Hairdressing has been a passion of Heidi Reeves since high school where she chose to follow her heart and pursue her career in this field. Recently, Heidi came out of hibernation at the request of some long-time clients and has opened a boutique salon in James Street, above Yogolicious.
Previously, Heidi owned The Fringe Hair room in Arthur Street and operated from her home for a number of years. Like so many, the events of 2020 put a lot of stressors on her as a business owner and the salon was put up for sale.
During this period of reprieve, Heidi delved into the world of astrology – something else that she has had a lifelong love for, that was enjoyable and filled up her soul. She spent a couple of years training and slowly landed back on earth again, setting up her astrology business from home, sharing birth charts and taking up writing the monthly Moon Musings column for our very own The Hub Capricorn Coast.
Heidi began to dabble in hair again last year, collaborating with a beautician friend offering mobile hair and beauty for special occasions. Loving the company, Heidi enjoyed this style of work. As it happens, more and more people were asking for her services on a more regular basis which has led to the recent opening of her salon – VirgoSol.
VirgoSol is an intimate salon utilising low tox hair care products, something that is very important to Heidi who understands the toll toxins can have on our bodies when we visit a salon, but also the long-market, Heidi has chosen to use Sophic, a Queensland based company and also Monat.
Heidi chose to set up a small salon as a lifestyle choice, making it possible to work school hours while giving her clients a relaxed and very personal experience. This means that Heidi can dedicate her time and attention to you, without getting caught up in the hustle and bustle of a busy salon, which can be overwhelming for many. And you just never know, you may get some astrological advice during your appointment as well!
Plans are underway to introduce some new and exclusive services in the sanctuary of VirgoSol. Coming soon is the scalp facial which will showcase Monat’s products. Scalp health is incredibly important to our overall health and wellbeing.
Heidi says that she wanted to create a space where people want to go, where they feel heard and are comfortable enough to relax and enjoy the experience of feeling loved on after receiving a 1:1 experience with their stylist. Heidi wants her clients to walk out after their appointment feeling like the best version of themselves.
