Our community, your home. We’re proud to be local.
Community is at the heart of everything we do. As true Yeppoon locals, we believe firmly in supporting and highlighting what is available locally. We are continually meeting incredible members of our community who have heartening stories to share. We love delivering good news stories in a positive way. We know too well the importance of the relationship between positive influences in our lives and our mental wellbeing.
Alongside our FREE monthly digital magazine publication for the community, we are incredibly passionate about being involved in projects that will have a positive impact on our community.
Here’s some of the other ways we contribute to our community:
The Wellbeing Library was created for locals to have access to health, wellbeing, personal and spiritual development books and resources. Although we are currently looking for a home to host our library permanently, you can browse our online catalogue and local pick up/drop off can be arranged.
The Hub Giving Fund was created to support locals in our community who are doing it tough. We know too well that when the chips are down and the money is tight, is usually the time that you need a little extra TLC in your life. The Hub Giving Fund was established as a way to give back to our community. We often receive donations from our incredibly generous local business community that we are able to pass on to someone in need. For our local events, we offer a ‘pay it forward’ system. You can nominate a friend or yourself to be considered for assistance from The Giving Fund here.
The Walk for Wellbeing was first held in October 2022 and has since become an annual event on our calendar during Queensland Mental Health Week. The walk starts at Farnborough Beach with a water stop at Ross Creek, snack break at Lammermoor Beach and finishing off with a barbecue at Kemp Hill. The aim of the walk is to provide an opportunity for the community to come together in a leisurely atmosphere to take in the sights and scenery that are often missed in the busyness of our every day lives. Keep an eye on the event page for details of this year’s walk.
International Women’s Day is annual event on our calendar. We believe in supporting and recognising the contributions of local women in our community. For the past two years, these events have been held in collaboration with Coastal Kinesiology and hosted in the gorgeous surrounds of Stir and Stitch. In 2023, we decided to scrap the traditional award system with the belief that life is already competitive enough and simply honour and recognise women who are achieving great things in our community under the categories of Mentor, Community Spirit and Rookie Business.
If you have an event coming up that you would like a helping hand with or a collaboration partner, please reach out as we are always willing to lend a helping hand in whatever way we can. Get in touch.
