Christmas the most wonderful time of the year or a stress inducing nightmare?
Personally, I am a Christmas fan. I love all the magic and wonder that it brings. The joy it creates in our little ones; seeing their faces light up, it really is something special. An opportunity to teach that you don’t have to see to believe. A chance to spread love, kindness, caring and compassion.
Having said that I don’t like the huge commercial push that comes with Christmas. Christmas to me is about being with the people that we love. It’s about spending quality time with those special people in our lives and creating beautiful memories and connection and (when we can) giving to others who are less fortunate than us.
Of course, we all love to get a little gift but maybe this year let’s just try and remember that it’s not about the presents but presence.
Take time to appreciate the little moments. Release some of the pressure and just be and enjoy. It doesn’t need to be this big money spending ordeal. We can show our love and appreciate for each other with small gestures. And if you want to do gifts of course that is fine but just remember they don’t have to cost an arm and a leg. ��
